About Me
All my life I have been interested in textiles.
My very earliest memories are of using printed cotton hankerchiefs to go to sleep (yes, I had a few) I used to nibble the edges, so my Mum kept quite a stock in. Of course I did not know they were textile, just that I liked the feel of it and that comforted me.
I came from a family of makers and menders. My grandmother sewed, my Great Aunt crocheted, My Mum knitted, My Dad repaired things.
So I was taught to knit and to crochet, hand sewing was fine, machine sewing harder. I mended things, I made things. Then finally I completed a degree in Fashion and Textile Design and started a small online business handmaking products. It grew and for eighteen years fed my soul.
Then the covid pandemic came, it made me think about so many elements about my life, this world and I started to embroider.
I want to say something using textiles and now that is the journey I am on.
